Dreiländermuseum Lörrach

Dreiländermuseum Lörrach

The museum, which has won many awards, is the only tri-border museum in Europe. The Dreiländer exhibition in German and French is the central permanent exhibition on the history and the present of the tri-border region of the Upper Rhine. Every year it also hosts several large special exhibitions.
A multidisciplinary institution, the Dreiländermuseum also holds one of the largest collections in South Baden.
As a history museum, it focuses on collections from the 1848/49 Revolution and from the tri-national history of the 19th and 20th centuries.
As an art museum, it concentrates on the art history of Baden, for instance boasting the largest public collection of Max Laeuger ceramics. As a literature museum, it curates the largest museum collection on Johann Peter Hebel, who once lived in the building housing the museum.
